Requirement: 6-64 years old

This tour involves walking upstream through the Kamuiwakka River over uneven volcanic rocks and flowing water. Participants should be comfortable walking on slippery surfaces and getting wet.
Water shoes are provided.
Meeting place: Free pickup and drop-off service is available from all accommodation facilities in the Utoro area, as well as the Utoro-Shiretoko Roadside Rest Area.

Head: Helmets are provided and must be worn during the hike.
Tops: T-shirt or upper layer that you are willing to get wet.
Bottoms: Pants or shorts that you are willing to get wet.
Shoes: Water shoes are provided free of charge. Please inform us of your shoe sizes when making a reservation.
Others: Bottle of water (500ml), towel, sunscreen, and a full change of clothes. *There is a changing room available at the waterfall.

Notice

Please note that while the hike is not overly technical or long, walking through the flowing riverbed over slippery rocks requires a moderate degree of physical fitness, balance, and agility.

Bears are occasionally spotted along the waterfall hike. Your guide is fully trained in bear safety and will carry bear spray at all times for your safety.

In the event of bad weather or bear sightings, the trail or access road may be closed. If this occurs, we will keep you updated with the latest information as soon as possible.

Portable restrooms are available near the start of the waterfall, but none exist along the hike itself.

Depending on weather and group pace, the tour end time may vary slightly. Please allow yourself some buffer time in your schedule.

This tour is not suitable for guests with sensitive skin due to the highly acidic water.

This tour is not suitable for guests with mobility issues or difficulty walking.

Waterproof cases for cameras, smartphones, etc. are not available for loan.
Furthermore, we cannot guarantee against damage caused by water exposure or other similar issues. Please use at your own risk.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation is free up to 2 days before the tour. After 2 days a cancellation fee of 20 % of the tour cost will be charged if you cancel 2 days before the tour, 50 % if you cancel the day before and the full tour cost if you cancel on the day of the tour.
