マングローブと湿地

The biological diversity around mangroves is as rich as that of coral reefs. Mangroves grow in salty or brackish water along rivers and provide shelters and roosting sites for many different organisms such as fish, crustaceans, mollusks and birds. As the tide gets low, estuaries transform to tidal flats, which are also utilised by many creatures, particularly shorebirds and gobies which use the areas as feeding grounds.
